Fuji-Cup

The Fuji - Cup was a 1986 to 1996 during the summer break immediately before start of the season in the Bundesliga in smaller towns the " Football province " instead -find, unofficial warm-up tournament (1986 played as Casio Cup). At the competition, which consisted of two semi-finals, followed by a 3rd place match and final, took usually top teams of the previous Bundesliga season in part.

Also before the start of the new Bundesliga season, the official DFB - Supercup between the German champion and the DFB Cup winners the previous season was held. Since the Fuji - Cup pushed forward over time in a dimension that had not yet reached the official Supercup of the DFB, a clause was the DFB first introduced, which laid down that trophy winners and champions are not invited at the same time the Fuji- Cup Tournament so as to avoid premature Supercup game.

For the 1997 season the two competitions were eventually replaced by the DFB - League Cup newly created and official, which was held until 2007. As a similar tournament which also unofficial Telekom Cup will be held ( in 2009 as T-Home - Cup, from 2010 to 2012 as LIGA total! Cup) since 2009.
