Fujian White Crane

Baihequan (白鹤 拳Chinese, Pinyin báihèquán, Japanese Hakutsuru -ken ) is the White Crane style or the White Crane Fist in the Chinese martial arts.

Baihequan springs from the southern Chinese Shaolin boxing and forms one of five fundamentals of Chinese martial arts ( five animal systems of Shaolin ( Wu Xing Xi): Dragon, Snake, Tiger, Leopard and Crane ). In southern China, the " white crane boxing " ( peh - HOH -kun ) was practiced. For all crane styles, the tendons, especially those far trained in the hands and forearms in the meditative pain threshold and claimed. The crane style is assigned to the element water. All crane styles are characterized by rapid movements in the complementary hard and soft Bewegungungen.

The Kata of Karate Goju - Ryu style are at least partly descended from Baihequan. Baihequan is treated in the book Bubishi.
