Fulk Bertrand of Provence

Fulk Bertrand I ( † probably April 27, 1051 ) was, together with his brothers William IV († 1019/30 ) and Godfrey I († probably 1061/62 ) since 1018, Count of Provence. After William's death Fulk assumed the title of marquis, which was signaled that he was the head of the family.

Together with Gottfried Fulk made ​​on 26 May 1037 Cluny Abbey a gift, the church of Saint -Victor in Marseille on January 16, 1040. Fulk Bertrand was a great patron of the monastic revival in the early 11th century. A daughter was the first wife of Raymond IV, Count of Toulouse ( † 1105), who married another William II Count of Besalu (reduced 1066/70 ).
