Fullmetal Alchemist the Movie: Conqueror of Shamballa

Fullmetal Alchemist - The Movie: Conqueror of Shamballa (Japanese劇場 版 鋼の錬金術師 シャンバラ を 征く 者, Hagane no Renkinjutsushi Gekijōban - Shanbara o Yuku Mono) is a film about the anime and manga series by Hiromu Arakawa Fullmetal Alchemist. The production took over the studio Bones in collaboration with various other companies.

The plot of the film concludes at the end of the TV series and develops them, but does not rule out a sequel.

Action

The story begins two years after the end of the TV series. Edward Elric lives in Munich in this world in 1923. Without his alchemical abilities and auto mail prosthesis in place of his right arm and left leg, he experimented with Alfons Heiderich the construction of missiles.

On a festival on which the missile will be demonstrated, he meets a Gypsy woman, Noah, and helps her. He then gets into a conspiracy of the Thule Society, with the help of alchemy a path between this world and wants to create by Edward. Edwards World, which holds Dietlinde Eckhart of the Thule Society for the legendary Shamballa, should then be conquered.

New characters

In the film, many characters appear that are not present in the series. Besides Heiderich, Noah and Dietlinde Eckhart various Nazis come before, so Rudolf Hess in the Thule society and in a scene in Bürgerbräukeller on 8 November 1923, Adolf Hitler, who was talking there in advance of the Hitler - Ludendorff Putsch. Hermann Oberth, founder of rocketry occurs as a teacher of Edward and Heiderich.

So Edward is helped by a Mabuse, who is of Jewish descent. This looks like King Bradley from Edward's world. Later he abandons his identity as Fritz Lang. Music

For the film, the opening credits title link and LOST HEAVEN were from L' Arc ~ en ~ Ciel produced for the end credits. The song Kelas [ Let's - DANCE ] that is sung and played in the film by a Roma woman, was composed by Ferenc Snétberger and performed by Tayo Awosusi.

To the film was released in Japan a CD with the soundtrack, which includes 46 items.

The premiere in Japanese theaters was on 23 July 2005, the DVD was released on 25 January 2006. The film was also shown in a small number of American cinema in 2006 and came on 12 September 2006 in the U.S. on DVD. He appeared among others in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Canada and Australia and has been translated into French, Italian, Polish and Portuguese. A broadcasting in English carried on the channels Starz Edge and YTV ( Canada).

Panini Video has released the film in German in March 2008. The film was shown on 27 June 2008 at the Munich Film Festival.

The film has played in Japan 1.22 billion yen.

In the fifth Tōkyō Kokusai Anime Fair 2006 won The Conqueror of Shamballa Prices in the categories of Animation of the Year and Best Music. 2005, the film was also awarded "Best Animated Film " at the Mainichi Eiga Concours and the Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal.
