Fulton County (Georgia)

The Fulton County is a county located in the state of Georgia in the United States. Administrative office ( County Seat) is Atlanta.

Geography

The County is located in the central northwestern Georgia and has an area of 1385 square kilometers, of which 15 square kilometers of water surface are. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Forsyth County, Gwinnett County, DeKalb County, Clayton County, Fayette County, Coweta County, Carroll County, Douglas County, Cobb County and Cherokee County.

History

Fulton County was formed as the 144th county in Georgia from portions of DeKalb County on 20 December 1853. It was named after Robert Fulton, in 1807 a new type of steamboat built and revolutionized river navigation. In 1932, the Fulton County partnered with Milton and Campbell County.

The average age was 33 years. For every 100 females there were 97.0 males statistically every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.0 males.
