Fulton County (Indiana)

Fulton County is a county located in the state of Indiana in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Rochester.

Geography

The County is located in north-central Indiana and has an area of 962 square kilometers, of which seven square kilometers of water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Marshall County, Kosciusko County, Wabash County, Miami County, Cass County, Pulaski County and Starke County.

History

Fulton County was formed on February 7, 1835 from parts of Allen County, Cass County and St. Joseph County. It was named after Robert Fulton, an American engineer who built the first practical steam ships and the submarine Nautilus.
