Fulton is a city ( with a status of "City" ) in Whiteside County in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Illinois. In 2010, Fulton had 3481 inhabitants.
Geography
Fulton is located at 41 ° 52'02 " north latitude and 90 ° 09'34 " west longitude and extending 6 km ². The town is the center of Fulton Township, but extends to a small portion to the south adjacent Garden Plain Township.
Fulton is located on the Mississippi River opposite the larger neighboring town of Clinton in Iowa. Other neighboring towns are Thomson (12,2 km north-northeast ), Morrison ( 18.5 km east-southeast ) and Albany ( 12.7 km SSW ).
The nearest large towns are Dubuque ( 97.2 km NNW ), Rockford (122 km east-northeast ) and the Quad Cities ( 64.5 kilometers south-west ).

By Fulton runs along the Mississippi here the Illinois section of the Great River Road forming Illinois State Route 84 the southern outskirts forms of U.S. Highway 30 on the Mark N. Norris Bridge is the western terminus of Illinois State Route 136 the extension of the same State Road in Iowa forms and passes through Fulton to the east. All other streets are subordinate or urban roads.
