Furano, Hokkaido
Furano (Japanese富良野 市, -shi) is a city in the sub-prefecture on the island of Hokkaido Kamikawa.
Geography
Furano is located south of Asahikawa and northeast of Sapporo.
History
The appointment to Shi on May 1, 1966.
Attractions
The city is known for its colorful fields of flowers in the summer and fragrant lavender in July.
Another tourist attraction is known from the current 1981-2002 drama Kita no Kuni kara Rokuro no Mori (麓郷 の 森).
