Furio Scarpelli

Furio Scarpelli ( born December 16, 1919 in Rome, † April 28, 2010 ) was an Italian screenwriter. He often worked with Agenore Incrocci (as Age & Scarpelli ). He was nominated three times for an Oscar.

Life

Scarpelli began his professional career as a satirical illustrator until he met after the war Agenore Incrocci. This formed henceforth as Age & Scarpelli a much busy writing team of the Italian film industry. First, they wrote comedies for Totò, then you can view them as the inventor of the Commedia all'italiana for which they wrote classics of Mario Monicelli, Dino Risi and Pietro Germi. But serious films such as Wedding Crashers (1966 ) arose after their books.

Without his partner Incrocci Scarpelli worked since the late 1960s, often along with the film director Ettore Scola. By the year 2009 active as a screenwriter, he was nominated in 1994 for his script for The Postman for an Oscar. He had received in 1965 ( for the whip in the neck ) and 1966 ( for Casanova '70 ) Two other nominations.
