Fusion Festival

The Fusion Festival (pronounced [' fjuʒən ], also written in Cyrillic: Фузион ) is a festival of music, theater, performance art and more. It takes place every year since 1997 in late June on the former military airfield in Lärz (Mecklenburg- Vorpommern) and instead extends over four days. The number of visitors was according to official figures, in 2013 at 62,500 (excluding approximately 8,000 free tickets and Sunday tickets). (2012: 55,000 2011: 55,000 2010: 53,000 2009: 60,000 2008: 45,000 2007: 34,000 2006: 30,000 2005: 22,000 2004: 15,000 ). In 2010, the tickets were first limited and sold only in advance. For the first time in 2012 tickets were sold exclusively in the lottery.

Concept

The aim of the merger is, according to the organizers ' Holiday communism. " Far away from the company to create a parallel society, which should be free from constraints and controls. The organizers lay claims to a high value on mutual tolerance and environmentally friendly and non-commercial orientation of the festival. So there is no major sponsors and therefore no advertising on the festival grounds. Sold on the festival grounds are exclusively vegetarian food. There is no interest in media presence.

The program covers almost the entire range of electronic music, such as Minimal, Techno, House, Drum and Bass, Dubstep, Breakbeat, Dub, Trance, Goa. But also offered at the Hip Hop, Jazz, Songwriting, rock, punk, metal, polka, ska and reggae and dancehall, to a lesser extent, Klezmer and more specific genres such as Finnish tango and other live music. There is also a varied program of theater, cabaret, radio drama and cinema programs, as well as performances.

Event site

The airfield Larz was abandoned by the Russian army in 1993. The site was purchased on 30 April 2003 eV by the Association Kulturkosmos Müritzsee. The complex includes twelve former aircraft hangars that are overgrown with grass. As a green hill they give the site a distinctive character and allow even in bad weather a comprehensive program.
