Fusulinida

Triticites species from the Permian

The Fusulinida were an order bearing housing, meeresbewohnender protozoa from the group of foraminifera. They can be detected from the Carboniferous to, but died out at the end of the Permian.

Features

The species of the order form extremely fine-grained calcite housing, with densely packed, only a few microns wide, gleichdimensionalen crystals. More sophisticated forms had walls made of several layers.
