Futaba District, Fukushima

Futaba -gun (Japanese双 叶 郡) is a county ( gun) in Fukushima Prefecture, Tohoku Region, Japan.

The district was formed on 1 April 1896 and the merger of Shineha -gun (标 叶 郡) and the Naraha -gun (楢 叶 郡). Hence the name "two" (双)叶comes.

On February 1, 2014, the area had an area of ​​865.12 km ², a reported population of 66 404 people.

Among his communities: Futaba, Hirono, Katsurao, Kawauchi, Namie, Naraha, Okuma and Tomioka.

Since the Fukushima nuclear disaster, the county is largely within the 30-km evacuation and restricted area, so that the entire management and population had to be evacuated to other municipalities in the prefecture and neighboring prefecture. Specifically, these were: Futaba by Kazo in Saitama Prefecture, of Hirono by Iwaki, of Katsurao after Aizubange from Kawauchi and Tomioka after Kōriyama, Namie after Nihonmatsu, of Naraha after Aizumisato, as well as according to Aizu Wakamatsu Okuma.
