Fútbol por la vida

Fútbol por la Vida ( "Football for Life" ) is a non-governmental organization in Costa Rica, who have with the help of soccer social work and poverty reduction operates. This organization was founded in 2004 in San Jose.

The aim is to develop ( girls and boys aged 8 to 18 years ) living in the poorest neighborhoods of San José and come from socially disadvantaged families the chance to give new perspectives for their lives children and adolescents. Costa Rica is in Central America as a relatively rich country, but there are great social differences. The social environment of children and adolescents is characterized by substance abuse, domestic violence, lack of prospects, etc.

Through professional football training, especially social behavior such as fairness and sense of community is encouraged to strengthen beyond the sport 's self and sense of responsibility of the participants. Here, football is used as a tool, ie for the production of contact with children and young people. The organization operates a total of six football schools in rural and urban regions of Costa Rica, where more than 600 children and young people, of which 35 % are girls are cared for.
