Fuveau
Fuveau is a commune with 9350 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011 ) in the department of Bouches -du -Rhône in the Provence- Alpes- Côte d' Azur.
Geography
The municipality is located fifteen kilometers south-east of Aix -en- Provence. Neighboring towns are also Gardanne, Gréasque and Mimet. The municipality is part of the Communauté d' agglomération du Pays d' Aix. The municipality consists of the villages of La Barque ( about 1000 inhabitants) and Brogilum (230 inhabitants).
History
Fuveau was first mentioned in the eleventh century. The place was initially dominated by agriculture in the second half of the nineteenth century began the coal mining industry.
