Fuyumi Soryo

Fuyumi Soryo (Japanese惣 领 冬 実, Soryo Fuyumi; born January 6, 1959 in Beppu, Oita Prefecture, Japan ) is a Japanese manga artist.

Life

Soryo was born in 1959 in the seaside resort of Beppu and was not interested in her youth, especially for manga, but had a talent for drawing. When a friend gave her a copy of the girls manga magazine Shōjo Comic Bessatsu, she discovered in an advertisement for a manga character competition. Because the prize money was worth one million yen, she took part and made of an autobiographical short story.

In the following years she continued to focus on the manga drawing and worked as an assistant to the mangaka Ogura Fuyumi. The name of Ogura inspired in the choice of their own stage name.

1982 Soryo published her first short story as a professional manga artist. Hidamari no Hōmonsha appeared in Bessatsu Shōjo Comic magazine, for which she recorded in 1985, inter alia, their first longer manga, Boyfriend.
