G. P. Mix

Gainford P. 'G. P. "Mix (* October 15, 1876 in Grand Iceland, Nebraska, † June 28, 1944 in Moscow, Idaho ) was an American politician. Between 1931 and 1933, and again from 1935 to 1937 he was Deputy Governor of the State of Idaho.

Career

In the early 1880 came G. P. Mix to Idaho. Later he graduated from the Agricultural Faculty of the University of Idaho. During his studies he was there even baseball players. Later he became a farmer and entrepreneur. Politically, he joined the Democratic Party. In 1931 he was elected to the side of Ben Ross as Lieutenant Governor of Idaho. A post he held from January 5, 1931 to January 2, 1933. Yet he was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate.

In 1932 Mix renounced another candidacy. Instead, he joined his party unsuccessfully in the primary for elections to the U.S. Senate. In 1934 he was re-elected vice-governor of his state. This office he held from January 7, 1935, and January 3, 1937. He died on 28 June 1944 in Moscow.
