G. Waldo Dunnington

Guy Waldo Dunnington ( born January 15, 1906 in Bowling Green, Missouri, † April 10, 1974 in Natchitoches, Louisiana) was an American historian of mathematics.

Dunnington taught German and history of mathematics in St. Louis, Kansas City and La Crosse in Wisconsin before 1946 German professor at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. He is best known for his biography of Carl Friedrich Gauss, who first appeared in 1955 and on decades of research based ( his archive to Gauss went after his death to his university ).
