G.R. Aldo

G. R. Aldo ( born Aldo Rossano Graziati, Aldo Graziati; * January 1, 1905 in Scorzč, † November 14, 1953 in Albaro di Pianiga ) was an Italian pean cameraman.

Life

Aldo was fascinated at an early age from traveling, and in 1923 he went to France to be an actor there. It get him some stage engagements as well as an appearance in 1928 in the film L' ile d' amour. He worked there but primarily as a photographer. In the late 1930s he became a cameraman leader; his first film in this function is L' Empreinte de Dieu from 1939. ago the German occupiers fled to Nice, where he met Michelangelo Antonioni, who brought him back to Italy. There Graziati became one of the key figures of the neo-realism. Now, often under the stage name " Aldo " acting, his sense of aesthetic images was perceptible, as well as his admiration for Caravaggio. He worked with the most important directors of his time.

Aldo died during the filming of Lucchino Visconti longing in a car accident.
