Region

Gadabédji is a rural community in the Niger Department Bermo.

Geography

Gadabédji located in the northern Sahel. The neighboring municipalities are Ingall in the north, Tarka the east, in the southeast Tagriss, Bader Goula in the south and Bermo in the West. The municipality is divided into three administrative villages, eight hamlets, a warehouse and 18 water points. The main town of the country church is the administrative village Gadabédji.

In the north of the municipality is the Gadabédji Reserve, a 68,000 hectare nature reserve, which was established in 1955.

History

The rural community Gadabédji originated as an administrative unit in 2002 as part of a nationwide administrative reform in a previously unincorporated area in the north of the department Dakoro. Since 2011 part of the rural community not to Dakoro Department, but for the newly created Department Bermo.

Population

At the 2001 census Gadabédji had 3818 inhabitants. For the year 2010 5163 population were calculated.

Policy

In the local elections in July 2004 Ngoulou Algoubass ( PNDS - Tarayya ) was elected mayor.

Economy and infrastructure

The community is located at the junction of a zone is operated in the Agropastoralismus, to the zone of pure pastoralism in the north.
