Gabiley ( Somali: Gabileh; غابيلي Arabic ) - also Gebilay, Gibileh Gebileh or written - is a town in the west of Woqooyi Galbeed region in the north of Somalia, according to calculations about 17700 residents. Estimates go far over this figure.

The city is the administrative seat in the same district of Gabiley since the outbreak of the Somali Civil War de facto autonomous Somaliland.

The village is located about 54 kilometers west of Hargeysa in a comparatively fertile area which is called Dhul- beereed or as a bread basket of Somaliland. Agriculture in Gabiley is considered second major source of income of the administration of Somaliland to the port of Berbera. The demand for food is far greater than the region can produce.

According to data from Somaliland addition cereals ( maize, wheat and barley) and vegetables, such as beans, peas, potatoes, tomatoes, onions, garlic and cabbage is grown. Some of the estimated 1500 irrigated farms in the region produce even oranges, papaya and watermelon.

In contrast to most other regions of Somalia 's population lives here distributed not only to the capital is concentrated as a metropolitan center, but on many places and small towns, which are partly already more than 150 years.

Since 2010 Gabliey has a hospital and a university, the Tima -ade University.
