Gábor Görgey

Gábor Görgey of Görgő and Toporcz ( born November 22, 1929 in Budapest) is a Hungarian dramatist and writer. Until 2003 he was Minister of Culture of Hungary.

Life

Gábor Görgey is one of the most renowned writers of Hungary. Until 2003 he was Minister of Culture of the Republic of Hungary and promoted decided the spread of Hungarian literature abroad. His five -volume magnum opus Last report from Atlantis is published by Salon Verlag. The first translated band, Siren of the Adriatic (originally the fifth and last part of the novel cycle, but translated as the first in Germany because of the current political references; excellent in Hungary in 2000 with the " Prize for the best book of the year" ), was released in 2004 on German, the second volume, the Hunting carpet (Part 1 in the original order ), followed in the spring of 2006. too, as a playwright Görgey came with the play " mirror game" ( Tükörjátek ) in appearance, it was in German language in 2000 at the Theatre Old Castle -Gera premiered.
