Gabriel Iván Heinze ( born April 19, 1978 in Crespo, Argentina) is an Argentine footballer of German-Russian and Italian descent. He is regarded as -tackling left-back who can play " 6 " position in the center of defense or on the so-called. He is known especially for his unconditional commitment and hard tackles.

Career

In the club

His father is a Volga German, his mother of Italian origin. He was born in Argentina and began his career at CA Newell 's Old Boys.

His first stop in Europe was in 1997 Real Valladolid. He then moved in 1998/99 to Sporting Lisbon, and after a season back to Valladolid. After a successful year, he was obliged in 2001 by Paris St Germain. With this club he won the 2003/04 Coupe de France.
