Gabriel Laub

Gabriel Laub ( born October 24, 1928 in Bochnia, Poland, † 3 February 1998 in Hamburg ) was a multi-lingual ( Polish, Russian, Czech and German ) journalist, satirist and writer of aphorisms Polish- Jewish origin.

Life

Foliage grew up in Krakow and fled with his parents in 1939 because of the Jewish origin of the family from the Germans in the Soviet Union, where the family was deported and interned to Uzbekistan. In 1946, he studied journalism in Prague, where he worked until 1968 as an editor and writer. In 1967 he published his first anthology of aphorisms and short stories. After the suppression of the Prague Spring, he fled to Hamburg. There his aphorisms collections published in German language. He has received numerous awards, including the 1971 short story prize of the city of Arnsberg and 1991 Irmgard - Heilmann Prize. Gabriel leaves was buried in Israel.
