Gabriel Maestre

Maestre Gabriel Pérez ( born September 22, 1986 in Barcelona, ​​Province of Anzoategui, Venezuela ) is a Venezuelan boxer. He won a bronze medal at the World Welterweight Champion t shank 2013.

Career

Gabriel Maestre began as a teenager with boxes and stands in the Venezuelan national team of amateur boxers since 2007. In 2007 he sang with good success his first international tournament, then still in the light welterweight. For the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, he could not qualify. In 2010 he finished 5th in South America Games in Medellin welterweight. He occupied the same seat at the Pan American Cup 2010 in Quito after a defeat in the quarter- final against Carlos Banteur from Cuba.

In 2011 he took part in the World Championships in Baku. He won there welterweight against Óscar Molina from Mexico to points ( 15:12 ), but lost in the round of the " last 32 " against Bácskai Balázs, Hungary, on points ( 7:20 ), so he resigned and the 17th Place occupied. At the Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico in 2011, he lost in the quarter-finals again against Carlos Banteur and finished 5th.

When American Olympic Qualifying Tournament 2012 in Rio de Janeiro, he defeated Lucien Hewlette, Dominican Republic by RSC in the 1st round and then beat Pritchard Colon from Puerto Rico to points ( 13:8 ). In the semifinals he lost to Óscar Molina from Mexico to points ( 9:12 ), but with the 3rd place he qualified Dür the Olympics this year in London. In August 2013 Gabriel Maestre went in the Pan American Championships in Santiago de Chile at the start. He defeated there welterweight Luis Veron, Argentina (3-0 RS ), Daniel Muñoz, Chile ( 2-1 RS) and Arisnoide Despaigne, Cuba (2:1 RS). In the final he was beaten the Brazilian Roberto Queiroz (0:3). He came therefore to 2nd place. In very good shape, he took up at the World Championship in Almaty. Again welterweight, he won there over Bácskai Balázs, Hungary ( 2:1), Ireneusz Zakrzewski, Poland ( 3-0) and Alexander Besputin, Russia ( 3-0), before he was defeated in the semifinals against Arisnoide Despaigne (0:3). He thus won a world championship bronze medal.
