Gabriel Mercado

Gabriel Ivan Mercado ( born March 18, 1987 in Puerto Madryn ) is an Argentine football player.

Career

Mercado comes from the youth of Racing Club Avellaneda. In the season 2006/ 07 he was born on February 21, 2007 against San Lorenzo to his first appearances for the first team in the Argentine Primera División. Since then, he is an integral and important part of the defense of the team.

When he was with the Argentine U-20 selection, has already met with the Sudamericana Sub-20, the South American U-20 Championship, he was also at the Junior World Championships 2007 in Canada in the squad of the South American country, Argentina could decide for themselves. In the finals they defeated the Czech Republic 2-1. Overall, he played eleven games for the U- 20th

On 11 February 2010 he was appointed by Diego Maradona for his international debut in Argentina's national soccer team. The 2-1 victory over Jamaica, he started from the beginning and was replaced in the 88th minute for Ignacio Canuto, who scored the winning goal just two minutes later.
