Gabriel Rosenstock

Gabriel Rosenstock (* 1949 in Kilfinane, County Limerick ) is an Irish poet, prose writer and journalist.

Life

Gabriel Rosenstock was born in Kilfinane in County Limerick. His father was a German doctor from Schleswig -Holstein, his mother is from Galway where she was a nurse. Rosenstock was the third of six children. After school, he studied at University College Cork. There he was a member of a group of poets, from the other members, Nuala Ní Dhomhnaill, for example, had literary success.

He is a member of Aosdána and works for RTÉ, the Irish-language newspaper Anois and gum, Foras na Gaeilge part of the company. Rosenstock wrote primarily poetry, written but occasionally dramatic and epic texts. He also works as a translator. Rosenstock's books are often written in Irish.

Gabriel Rosenstock lives and works in Dublin.
