Gabriel Spilar
Gabriel Spilar (until 2009 Gabriel Špilár; * December 15, 1980 in Košice ) is a Slovak professional ice hockey player who stands since 2011 in Kaszink - Torpedo Ust- Kamenogorsk in the Wysschaja Hockey League contract.
Career
Gabriel Spilar began his career as a hockey player in the youth of HC Košice, in which he was active until 1998. Then he played in the 1998/99 season for the North Bay Centennials in the Canadian top junior league Ontario Hockey League. However, he returned after only one year to HC Košice, for which he made his debut in the Slovak Extraliga during the season 1999/ 00. The attacker scored in 44 games a total of 17 points scorer, including ten goals. After three seasons in the first team of HC Košice of the right shooter changed for the 2003/ 04 season for HC Sparta Prague, with whom he finished in third place in the Czech Extraliga this season.
The 2004/05 season began Spilar at HC Slovan Bratislava, the Slovakian champion at season's end. However, even during the season, the former OHL player signed with his former club from Košice. The following year, succeeded the winger to defend the title. This time, he began the season with HC Zlín in the Czech Republic and finished it at MsHK Žilina in Slovakia. With 13 scorer points, including five goals in 17 playoff games, he played a crucial role in winning the championship. Despite the success he left Žilina and played the next two years for their league rivals Košice. In the summer of 2008 Špilár was obliged Barys Astana of the newly formed Kontinental Hockey League, for which he completed a season in the KHL. He then returned to Slovakia and joined the MsHK Žilina.
In January 2010, he left the MsHK Žilina and was taken from Espoo Blues of the SM- liiga under contract. In the summer of 2010, he returned to his home and was obliged by HK Nitra. For the 2011/12 season the Slovak joined Kaszink Torpedo Ust -Kamenogorsk from the Wysschaja Hockey League, the Russian second division.
