Gabriel Trifu

Gabriel Trifu ( born April 14, 1975 in Bucharest ) is a former Romanian tennis player.

Career

Trifu began his professional career in 1994. The greatest successes he achieved unequivocally at the double and won on the second-rate Challenger Tour in his career total of 14 doubles titles. Even in the single he had a tournament success. On the ATP Tour, he was also able to win a tournament: In domestic Bucharest he won at the side of Andrei Pavel. At Grand Slam tournaments he reached in 1999 and 2002 the second round of Wimbledon.

Trifu played between 1997 and 2005 for a total of 15 meetings for the Romanian Davis Cup team. Both the individual with 0:4 and 7:8 in a double with its earnings balance is negative.

At the Olympic Summer Games 2000 in Sydney Trifu met with Andrei Pavel in the doubles competition. The two documents already in the opening round to the Indians Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi 3:6, 4:6.
