Gabrielle Goodman

Gabrielle Goodman ( born 1964 in Baltimore) is an American singer of modern jazz.

Goodman began singing as a child in gospel choirs, before studying at the Peabody - Konserveratorium her hometown. First, she appeared with her brothers, but also worked with Gary Bartz and Norman Connors. Since 1985 she worked as an accompanying singer Roberta Flack, with whom she at the 1992 Newport Jazz Festival guested. In 1993, she was with Chaka Khan on tour of Asia. Then began a solo career, playing with musicians such as Gary Thomas, Kevin Eubanks, Mulgrew Miller or Terri Lyne Carrington first albums and appeared in 1994 at the Montreux Jazz Festival. Furthermore, she was traveling in a duo with Wolfgang Muthspiel and with the Broadway tour "Forever Swing" and appeared as guest soloist with the Boston Pops.

Goodman, who also works as a singing teacher and holds a professorship at the Berklee College of Music, was honored for her text for the Chaka Khan hit " You Can Make the Story Right" with the ASCAP Award.
