Gaddo Gaddi

Gaddo Gaddi (* 1260 in Florence, † 1332 ) was a Florentine painter of the Gothic style. He was appointed in 1308 by Clement V. to Rome, where he completed a number of large mosaic sculptures in the style of Cimabue, of which at Santa Maria Maggiore pieces are still preserved. Furthermore him a Coronation of the Virgin is assigned in the inner bezel of the main portal of the cathedral of Florence. In 1312 he became a member of the painters' guild in Florence and died there in 1332.

His son Taddeo Gaddi Agnolo Gaddi and his grandson were also famous painters.
