Gadegast is a district of the city Tusker -Elster in Wittenberg district in Saxony- Anhalt.

Geography

Gadegast is located approximately 17 kilometers east of Lutherstadt Wittenberg.

History

1385 the village was first mentioned. The spelling of the name was in 1508 and 1550 Gathegast Gate Guest. The parish was until 1815 in the Saxon Office Seyda and then became Prussian.

1550 lived here 32 possessed man, including 18 gardeners who were directly under the Office Seyda. The village at that time had its own thing chair and judges.

The place had its own parish church.
