Gaetana Sterni

Gaetana ( Cajetana ) Sterni ( born June 26, 1827 in Cassola (Italy ); † November 26, 1889 in Bassano del Grappa ) was an Italian nun and foundress. She was beatified by the Roman Catholic Church.

Life

Gaetana Sterni was born on 26 June 1827 as one of six children. Her father was Giovanni Battista Sterni administrative officer in an authority and lived with his wife Giovanna Chiuppani in good circumstances. 1835 the family moved to Bassano del Grappa. Here were a few fatalities, after a short illness her father died, and her sister Margherita at the age of only 18 years.
