Gaetano Catanoso

Gaietan Catanoso ( it.Gaetano Catanoso ) ( born February 14, 1879 in Chorio, a district of San Lorenzo at Reggio di Calabria, Italy, † April 4, 1963 in Reggio di Calabria, Italy ) was an Italian priest and founder of the order. He is venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church.

Gaietan received priestly ordination in 1902 and led from 1904 to 1921 as pastor the church Pentedattilo. After that he went to Reggio di Calabria and worked as a canon and rain of a seminary. In addition, he served as confessor in various parishes and religious houses, and as a hospital and prison chaplains. In addition Gaietan founded in 1934 the Congregation of the "Sisters of St. Veronica of the Holy Image" (Italian: Congregation of the Suore Veroniche del Volto Santo, also daughters of Saint Veronica, Missionaries of the Holy Face ). He was called by Pope John Paul II in 1997 and blessed by Pope Benedict XVI. Canonized in 2005.
