Gafanha da Nazaré is a municipality and city in the county Ílhavo the district of Aveiro in Portugal.
History
The municipality was founded on August 31, 1910 at the behest of King Manuel II, the last new community during the era of the Portuguese monarchy. Justified by the strong increase in population of the municipality, Gafanha da Nazaré was raised initially to Vila ( town ) and on 19 April 2001 on the Cidade (City) on 29 October 1969.
