Gage County, Nebraska

Gage County is a county located in the state of Nebraska in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Beatrice, which was named after Julia Beatrice Kinney, the daughter of a judge and first president of the Nebraska Association, JF Kinney.

Geography

The County is located almost in the extreme southeast of Nebraska, on the south by Kansas and has an area of ​​2,227 square kilometers, of which 12 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Lancaster County, Otoe County, Johnson County, Pawnee County, Jefferson County and Saline County.

History

Gage County was formed in 1855. It was named after the minister William D. Gage.
