Gail Tremblay

Gail Tremblay (* December 15, 1945 in Buffalo ) is a writer from the Indian people of the Mi'kmaq, who lives in the USA. It also has French and Onondaga ancestors.

Gail Tremblay studied drama at the University of New Hampshire and Creative Writing at the University of Oregon. She has received numerous awards, but is also known as a visual artist. She has always related to their cultural heritage. Since 1981 she teaches at Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington state.

Her most famous works include: Close to Home, Omaha 1981 Indian Singing in Twentieth Century America, Corvallis, 1990, 1998 as Indian Singing, Revised Edition at Calyx Books, and Night Gives Women the Word, Omaha 1979.
