Gaius Claudius Marcellus Maior

Gaius Claudius Marcellus ( * at least 92 BC), a Roman politician of the late Republic and one of the consuls of the year was 49 BC

He was the son and grandson of Marcus His father was probably Marcus Claudius Marcellus, aedile in 91 BC Marcus Claudius Marcellus (consul 51 BC ) was probably his older brother. Gaius Claudius Marcellus is not to be confused with the homonymous cousin, the consul of 50 BC
