Galahad (UK band)

Galahad is a progressive rock and neo- prog band from Dorset (England ), which was founded in 1985 by Stuart Nicholson and Roy Keyworth. As namesake of the band does not serve Galahad, Knight of the Round Table, but a fruit grower, whose name means " Galahad Produce" Keyworth liked it so much that he named the band after that.

Band History

Galahad came first to cover versions alongside original compositions and acted as support for other neo- prog bands like IQ and Pendragon. Only in 1991 they released their first album, Nothing is Written, containing all original material. By airplay on BBC Radio 1 's debut was a success for the band.

As a result, Galahad published at regular intervals more studio albums, as well as compilations with unreleased material, alternative versions and live recordings. The album Empires Never Last the 2007 Award for the most critical success of the band and of the Classic Rock Society Album of the Year. In 2011, after the recording of Battle Scars and Beyond the Realms of Euphoria bassist Neil Pepper succumbed to cancer.
