Galea aponeurotica

The Galea aponeurosis ( aponeurosis epicranialis ) is a tough tendons hood or plate on top of the skull. It extends to between the frontal and occipital portion of the musculus occipitofrontalis. The frontal portion, also called musculus frontalis (forehead muscle), the raising of the eyebrows and lifting the forehead serves. The galea aponeurosis is firmly attached to the scalp, where it rests the scalp.
