Galician Railway of Archduke Charles Louis

The k.k. priv Galician Carl Ludwig -Bahn (CLB ) was a private railway company of Austria-Hungary, which was after Karl Ludwig of Austria, the brother of Emperor Franz Joseph I., named.

The CLB had its origins in the Eastern State Railway of which they power their operation took over east of Krakow and its locomotive stock on April 7, 1858. The route Dembica - Rzeszów, whose construction had begun the eastern state railway, was completed by the CLB and opens up even 1858. Quickly was the expansion of routes to the East, where also parts of Ukraine were opened.

The CLB was nationalized on 1 January 1892, bringing their tracks and cars came to kkStB.
