Galina Kulakova

Galina Alexeyevna Kulakowa (Russian Галина Алексеевна Кулакова born April 29, 1942 in Logatschi, Udmurtia ) is a former Soviet cross-country skier, which started during the 1970s for the Soviet Union.

She won four Olympic gold medals in her career. At the 1972 Olympic Games in Sapporo, she won both 5 km, 10 km and with the relay. At the Olympic Games in 1976 Kulakowa third parties had become more than 5 km, but was disqualified because she had used a nasal spray containing the banned substance ephedrine. Both the FIS and the IOC, however, allowed her to participate in the remaining races in which she won gold ( relay) and bronze (10 km).

In Nordic World Ski Championships Kulakowa was between 1970 and 1980 five gold medals win ( twice each over 5 km and with the season and a time about 10 km).

In 1982, she ended her career. For her performance, she was awarded the Order of Lenin and was given in 1984 by Juan Antonio Samaranch, the Olympic Order in Silver.
