Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II

The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II ( German Vittorio Emanuele II Gallery ) in Milan is one after the unifier of Italy, King Victor Emmanuel II, named covered shopping gallery from the 19th century. The opening by the King took place on 15 September 1867.

Building

The gallery is located right next to the Duomo to the Piazza del Duomo, to which she opens with a final triumphal arch. On the opposite side of the Piazza della Scala is located. A similar shopping center was built 20 years later with the Galleria Umberto I in Naples.
