Gallzein

Gallzein is a municipality with 620 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district Schwaz, Tyrol ( Austria ). The name is probably Gallzein Romansh origin ( Collacino = small hill). A settlement with the same name origin is Galltschein at Trins. The municipality is located in the judicial district of Schwaz.

Gallzein located on a terrace of the lower Inn valley, on the northern foothills of the Tux Alps. The populated area extends over seven hamlets that are accessible by road from Schwaz or by Buch in Tirol. The highest point of the municipality is the Gallzein Gratzenjoch with 1998 m. The Bucherbach, known locally also Schwadererbach, the community Gallzein flows in their midst in a deep ditch and flows book in the Inn. To the east of the trench are the hamlets Hochgallzein, Niederleiten and Schoeller Mountain, west of it are the hamlets Kogelmoos, yard, Wahrbühel and gates with noses, Axdorf and Gasteig.
