Gambellara is a northern Italian municipality with 3395 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the Veneto region. Gambellara belongs to the province of Vicenza.

Neighboring municipalities are Lonigo, Montebello Vicentino, Montecchia di Crosara ( province of Verona ), Monteforte d' Alpone ( VR), Roncà (VR) and San Bonifacio ( VR)

Viticulture in Gambellara

Gambellara is especially known for DOC white wine of the same name. The wine-growing area includes several communities in the province of Vicenza. The secco ( dry) or Abboccato (slightly sweet) developed wine is made from at least 80 % Garganega. Besides Garganega is the grape variety Trebbiano to max. 20 % admitted. Furthermore, there is also a Vino Santo.
