Gambler (Madonna song)

Gambler is a song by singer and artist Madonna from 1985.

History

After the recordings of Crazy for You in 1985 for the soundtrack of the musical film Girl Crazy John " Jellybean " Benitez also produced Gambler. Then the hit should also be heard at the beginning of the film. Since the song was produced by the label Geffen Records, it was not published at the request of the label Sire Records in the United States. Incidentally believed Sire Records that the two soundtracks could reduce the chances of success of the other Like a Virgin - outcouplings Angel, Into the Groove and Dress You Up. To date, Gambler is the last song Madonna wrote alone. The publication took place on 3 October 1985.

From the film genre, this song corresponds to the synth pop and disco, the design was modeled on the material of Madonna's first album. The drum comes from drum machines, synthesizers, bass and keyboards. The song begins with a four- chord chorus, of which three chords contain an average of eight and Madonna's vocals in echo. After the end of the coda new sequences are used with pipes. After the line " You can not stop me now" ( German: You can not stop me now ) ends the song with echoes.
