Gambling with the Devil is the twelfth studio album of the band Helloween. It was released by Steamhammer (SPV ) 2007.

Music style

The style of the album does not the chosen line of Keeper Of The Seven Keys - The Legacy continues. Helloween linked partly to the more harder the older pieces. The individual pieces are also deliberately kept shorter than the bombastic previous albums. The trend is again significantly towards power metal.

Importance

The album represents a departure from the previous development and is held back much harder. The musical mood has become noticeably more melancholic and darker.

The album was once again a great success for the band and reached in the first week number 38 in the German album charts, number 3 in Japan, and number 18 in the UK. The acceptance among fans and critics was largely positive, even if there were places criticism of the move away from Melodic Metal / Progressive Metal.
