Game Developers Conference

The Game Developers Conference, GDC short, is an annual held in San Francisco event for the developers of computer games. The GDC was founded in 1987 by Chris Crawford under the name of Computer Game Developers Conference ( CGDC ).

In the GDC industry giants such as John Carmack, Peter Molyneux and Tim Sweeney talk about the latest technologies and changes in the market.

There are lectures, are presented and discussed in which new technologies. In addition, the latest developments are shown and awarded the Game Developers Choice Awards. In the GDC 2004 about the Unreal Engine 3.0, the public has been shown that convinced inter alia, by the Per- pixel lighting, high polygon count and by the new developer tools.

GDC is accompanied by the media. Accordingly, talks with developers and publishers can be found on the internet over the fair again.

Regional conferences

There are in addition to the CGDC regional areas GDC Online ( formerly GDC Austin ), GDC GDC Europe and China. The latter event will take place at Koelnmesse in time right before gamescom.
