Games Academy

The Games Academy is a supplementary school, founded in 2000, officially acknowledged that specializes in the training of professionals in game development and computer game industry. Founder and rector until today is Thomas Dlugaiczyk who previously headed the ESRB and is a founding member of the Federation of developers of computer games.
The Games Academy is in German speaking countries the oldest and most prestigious special school in this area, and next to the Qantm Institute is the only institution in Germany which specialized fully trained specifically for the game industry. Since 2007, in addition to the location in Berlin also has a second branch of the Games Academy in Frankfurt am Main.
About the Games Academy is regularly reported in the German computer game magazines and many of the student projects were awarded prizes, the game Corporate Conflict won Mars as part of the German Developer Award 2009 Games Load Newcomer Award .. The Academy at trade shows in the industry, such as attending gamescom.
The Games Academy offers six different configurations:
- Game Design (2 semesters )
- Game Art & Animation (4 semesters)
- Game Programming (4 semesters)
- Game Production ( 4 semesters)
- Film Art & Animation (4 semesters)
- Interactive Audio Design (2 semesters )
The course of game design can be linked with the other courses. In addition to two -week " taster courses " offered.
In cooperation with the College of Fine Arts in Braunschweig ( HBK ) and the University of Applied Sciences Braunschweig / Wolfenbüttel can also optionally purchase graduates of degree programs Game Art & Animation and Game Programming a bachelor's degree. Depending on the course, this is either a bachelor's degree in Communication Design (Game Artist ) or media computer science (Game Programmer).
The Games Academy is working with some reputed companies in the industry, such as with Crytek, Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony.
