Gamle Oslo

Gamle Oslo ( Altoslo ) is a central district of the Norwegian capital Oslo. It has 39,500 inhabitants (2008 ) and an area of 7.5 km ². The district consists of the city sub-areas Tøyen, Vålerenga, Kampen, Grønland, Gamlebyen, Ensjø, Etterstad, Valle Hovin, Helsfyr, Ekebergskråningen as well as several islands in the Oslo Fjord: Kavringen, Nakkholmen, Lindøya, Hovedøya, Bleikøya, Gressholmen, Rambergøya and Heggholmen.
