Gammelin

Gammelin is a municipality in the district of Ludwigsburg pleasure Parchim in Mecklenburg -Vorpommern ( Germany ). It is administered by the Office Hagenow country with headquarters in the city Hagenow.

Geography

Gammelin is located between the cities of Schwerin and Hagenow. The Federal Highway 24 extends about 2.5 kilometers south of the resort, the Federal Highway 321 approximately three miles to the east.

The municipality belongs to the district of Gammelin Bakendorf.

History

In a customs enactment of the Count of Ratzeburg Albrecht II Gammelin 1219 first documented Chemelin. Already in 1335 the village church was mentioned in records. During the Thirty Years' War, the population had much to suffer. After the Second World War evacuees, displaced and landless peasants were allocated as part of the land reform land. As usual in the GDR, the farmers were zwangskollektiviert in the 1950s.

Life

The community Gammelin designed active community life. Mostly found this place in the community district Gammelin. This is where the sports club Gammeliner mallards or even the village club, which organizes regular festivals. The pensioners in the community meet regularly for coffee in the parish hall.

Important for the community Gammelin the church, which also helped to shape the community life is decisive. Pastor Maria Harder called so in 2009 a boy in the community life, to meet the young people from the parish, including the regions of Gammelin, Bakendorf, Hülseburg, Parum and Warsow belong, every two weeks. During the meeting, they write themselves plays, which are performed at festivities.

Flag

The flag of the municipality Gammelin is longitudinally striped green, white and green. The green stripes take each a two- ninth of the flag height. Fire department

The community has a volunteer fire department which is active from about 20 members of the Young Firefighters (19 active members ), the Florian group (about 15 active members ) and the Friends of the volunteer fire department ( 10 active members) composed. The fire department is a central point in the community life of the community and organizes an annual open day with blood donation. Since 2004 there is a friendship between the volunteer fire department Gammelin and the volunteer fire department ( Berlin ) Schonefeld. Through regular meetings and trips it was decided in 2008 for the official partnership.
